Birthplace:
Nancy Linder was born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. Before Nancy
could talk, she could sing, and that was the beginning. She went to
elementary, junior and senior high school at Florida Developmental High
School in Tallahassee. Nancy discovered her love for singing and
performing when she joined the school choir and was later selected for
starring roles in Oklahoma and H.M.S. Pinnafore.
Education: She graduated Magna Cum Laude from
Florida State
University with a BA in music performance (voice and piano) and a
minor in theater. While at Florida State, Nancy was selected as one of two
jazz soloists for Sarah Vaughan's master class and was accompanied by
Marcus Roberts during a 1981 performance. Nancy later studied at NYU's MFA
professional Actor Training program. Nancy further pursued her Masters
Degree at Georgia State University (21 units in Music Education); Cal
State LA (again 21 units in Music Education). She did acquire her Masters
Degree in Educational Administration from Azusa Pacific University in
California in 1995 (pictured on the right).
Teaching:
Nancy taught elementary school music for 15 years. Pictured on the left,
Nancy leads a group of children consisting of the choirs from two of her
schools performing together at a local mall.

Mommy:
Nancy's career as a
mommy has so far taken the place of her career as a music teacher.
Here is a picture of Nancy with son Nathan as they tour the palace at
Versailles.

Now the family includes Nathan’s younger triplet 6 year old brothers
Evan, Sean and Miles with Daddy Charles. You can see Miles, playing
Detective Shane’s son, on FX’s “The Shield” this final season which airs
on Tuesday nights.
Cantorial Soloist:
Since August 2000, Nancy has been chanting the services for
Temple
Beth David in Westminster, CA. Both the congregation and the Rabbi
at Temple Beth David are very happy to have her as a soloist. As for
Nancy, she loves the job because it gives her many chances to sing along
with time to be with her boys.
Recording Career:
Nancy first recorded a jazz, rock and pop demo. She then set out to
make a tape for her Dad with that recording quality. This tape evolved
into her first album, My Favorite Hebrew Songs.
Later, in 1999, she released her second album,
Songs of
the Jewish Spirit.
She
released two
more albums in 2007:
Songs for Shabbat
and
Broadway Melodies.
